This new construction project on Pleasant Lake in North Oaks, MN had many unique site conditions that required addressing to optimize lake views from each entertaining space. With the help of landscape designer Lincoln Danforth, the first step was to construct engineered stucco walls. Numerous other hardscape pieces—including terracing of travertine patios, limestone retaining walls, pored stucco for the fencing and swimming pool, and cobblestone paver driveway details—help the project meld with the historic neighborhood. Even from the entrance, which maintains the integrity of the North Oaks feel, the exterior elements stand cohesive with both the lakeside setting and the home’s architecture.
