This outdoor retreat was built as an extension to the existing home on several acreages of land in Medina, Minnesota. The design was to include a pool, spa, and fire feature with lush surrounding landscaping and ample space for lounging and entertaining. Through thoughtful landscape design, along with plenty of luxury additions for outdoor enjoyment, we crafted a space suited for lounging and relaxation and for hosting and entertaining.
The photo below is before construction began on the new pool house and entertaining space. It was previously designed as a formal garden with a walkway through it. Ultimately, it was under utilized.
Vinyl pool and spa goes in first. These require a lot of digging and installing pipes and electrical underground before the patio goes in.
The refreshed yard includes ample patio space for entertaining and socializing, and is constructed with full range bluestone throughout the new design, along with plenty of plantings that provide visual interest and soften the space. The patio space was thorough measured to accommodate chaise lounge chairs at the pool, seating around the fire pit, and two additional lounge areas between the pool house and the pool.
After photo of the finished entertaining space. The pool size is 20’x40’ and spa is 8’x10’ and both have an auto cover and bluestone coping. Natural bluestone was installed as the patio to complement the stone on the pool house as well as other existing outdoor spaces throughout the property. Hydrangea, boxwood, flower crab trees, and a variety of perennials liven up the landscape with organic shapes and beautiful color throughout the seasons.

The homeowners are thoroughly enjoying their new country pool and pool house addition, which blends beautifully with the main house. They have plenty of space to entertain friends and family now!
